I stumbled upon this patch of earth doing a nature shot one day. Before I took this picture, I took the time to stand in this huge field and take in the peace, the quiet, and the surrounding. I was alone but I felt safe. This photo reminds me of how little time we take to view the beauty around us and how precious it is. Standing still in time just for a few moments can be a moment that can last a lifetime and I had to take this photo so that I could keep this moment with me.
When we don’t take the time to see what’s in front of us, we deprive ourselves of the blessing which is life. We rob ourselves of peace and throw away possibility. Technology does everything these days. I remember when we still had dial up internet and my parents did not own cell phones. Now, everything is so SMART that individuals don’t take the time to do much of anything without calling out the name of a device first.
Now, I’m not saying that I don’t use these devices. I will be the first to say that using them has transformed my business practice and helped me to maintain a work/life balance. But, at the end of my workday I put them away and focus on my loved ones and on myself most importantly. I do this to avoid getting lost in my screen or loosing track of time sitting in front of screens all day so that I can maintain the energy to put my clients need first when the time rolls around.
A note of encouragement to business owners, no matter if you haven’t done much today to put your business on the map or have been running your business for years, you are already striving. Keep striving and take steps everyday to reach your goals. Good luck to you!
